I just read an article about a young boy who has autism spectrum disorder. He learned origami from his mom and decided to fold 1,000 cranes for peace. He did this over the summer and handed out the cranes to his fellow students, teachers, and staff at his school.
I think this is a wonderful story to teach us the value of setting goals and accomplishing them. Plus, it teaches kindness to everyone.
I've folded 1,000 cranes and it is a delightfully meditative, peaceful process. I think it's something we should all try at some point in life. It's OK if it takes months or years .

I thought of you when I read this article. You make such lovely origami. It reminded me of Morgan in your book, Aspen Allegations, folding origami while waiting for her boyfriend's band to play.
