Hello Forum Members,
...
I was Editor for Thyroid Health during 2008 and 2009 but resigned for a while. I'm back now and I'm excited to begin sharing new articles I will write for the site and to begin corresponding with fellow patients via this forum!
...
I have been called a Thyroid Patient Advocate, by people like Mary Shomon (The Nation's Number 1 Thyroid Patient Advocate) and I feel it an honor to help inform and represent other people who suffer similar thyroid diseases to my own. I'm a treated Hashimoto's hypothyroid patient but I have experienced hyperthyroidism as well, during the early onset of my Hashi's disease, when I went through a period of Hashitoxicosis (transient hyperthyroid).
...
I have a mild goiter and thyroid nodules as well, plus I have battled problem-symptoms with my disease, in spite of optimal thyroid hormone replacement. This includes chronic fatigue (with subclinical hypoadrenia - Adrenal Fatigue) and Fibromyalgia manifestations as well.
...
I'm a male patient but there are 8 times as many women who have thyroid disease, as compared to men (if not more). With the fact that treated thyroid patients can still feel unwell with adequate and optimal treatments, I am proud to see venues for patients, like BellaOnline Thyroid Health!
...
I'll be seeing you around the forums and I look forward to all of the correspondence we will have together! :)
