Prince Harry has become such a loved member of the British royal family and his popularity is growing. He once said that if he wasn't born royal, he would live in Africa so his energies have been directed to raising money and helping fight poverty and HIV/Aids in Lesotho:

Lesotho and Prince Harry

To African Dawn.

Prince Harry is a fresness in the English royalty.
His simplicity, his sense of being an ordinary guy, even if he is royalty,is making him more and more popular.
What I do not understand,Is that the owner of Microsft Bill gates and friends, have billions, supposedly to help Africa.
Wonder what his actions are?Do you know?

Harry is a real treasure!

Bill Gates has brought together the world's richest people in a range of projects to change the lives of millions of people in Africa. His focus is more long term, so he is doing work such as research into cures for diseases like malaria (one of the biggest killers on the African continent) and other illnesses as well as health and sanitation education. Have a look at the Bill and Miranda Gates Foundation. They are incredible people and do wonderful work. They have even decided not to leave their billions to their children, but to make the money work to transform lives. Remarkable!

I do agree that there are many wealthy people who could do more, but I also praise those who do so much and don't make a song and dance about it. They just get on with it.

The Gates Foundation is 'teaching the people to fish' and I do wish more people would consider this approach and not just give money.

What are your thoughts on this?

Dear African Dawn.

O.K. he is paying for research on Malaria. This group has over a
100 billion dollars.Maybe aids too.Research does not make people eat,or go to school, not being able to go their parents being dead by Aids and Hiv.You study better on a full stomach. When a 12 year old boy is the main famely support, taking care of cattle
to bring a bit of money home,he also should be allowed to eat and study..

But the Americans gave $50,000,000 to help a country in war ,maybe.

Africans face the hardest war.SURVIVING.

Absolutely! Totally agree with you! They aren't just involved in research. They have food programs, work in water sanitation and a host of other projects. They have given over 40% of their wealth to philanthropic causes so far.

They are working hard to get other wealthy people around the world to do the same. Have a look at The Giving Pledge.

I do think the biggest problem is the debt of the Third World and corruption. If we could deal with those 2 issues on a global level, things would be very different in Africa, and in other countries facing poverty.
