I find this to be an interesting question. While I responded to this question in another thread, I felt this was a viable question to put out for everyone to chime in on.

So, do you really take the time to all of a newsletter?

How much of a newsletter do you really read?

How are we to know what people really read when it comes to our newsletters?

Do you have a way of knowing or do you just hope for the best?

I have to admit that I am a scanner. However, when I received Cinzia's BOL Italian food newsletter, the colors and lay-out gave me pause. It look very eye-catching!

Now I am motivated to do the same with my own e-newsletter but I'm not sure how. Do I need to use HTML code?

Yes, if you want to use graphics and colors. Here on bellaonline.com though they do offer us the chance to send both text and HTML.

Just know that you will have to become well versed in HTML code. Something I'm working on now.
