Vladimir Vladimirovich Nabokov is recognized as one of the greatest 20th century Russian writers, translators, and critics. You and I and recognize the name as the direct result of one of Nabokovs more controversial works, Lolita.

Nabokov had the gift of language bestowed upon him by the muses and is known as a polyglot who commanded the Russian, English, and French languages to perfection.

Read more about this master of the written word and what he was doing while penning Lolita:

Privet Chamber,

Da -- yes -- you are correct: there are many sites doing translations but sometimes we need a real, live human to do the translation justice!

Peace.
