It melts my heart when I watch them sleep.

I love watching them sleep. Then, I remind myself that this is production time. Stop watching and get something done.

Given that siblings spend so much time trying to get on each other's nerves. What melts my heart is when I'm up in my bedroom and I can hear my kids downstairs in the family room laughing and having so much fun - especially as they get older now and have less in common. Hearing them so happy it's wonderful. When we're all together going somewhere and we start telling our favorite stories about something that happened. Watching them enjoy life, no worries just joy.
When they were small, it used to be watching them sleep with their little behinds up in the air, it was so cute.

YES!!! SO TRUE!!! Love to see how they express their love for each other. Like when my son defended his sister from a schoolyard bully. When she asks if he wants anything and then goes to make him a sandwich or bring him a drink. She even gives him a back rub if he asks. They can be very good to each other but oh, when they do fight or argue...argh.

Lori...LOL... beautiful. It grinds me when they argue, but you're right they will defend each other to the end!

BTW, Dianne, I love the Zig Ziglar quote. That should be a new thread in the Self Development forum. It made me stop and think about what am I becoming.

I used to LOVE the tiny rear ends sticking up in the air when they were sleeping. My 11-year old was a bit mopey the other day and just laying on the couch, obviously just in need of love and attention. I glanced over and there he was in the "fetal position" - tush in the air.

When we dropped our 11-year old at overnight camp this year (it was only a week and it was his first time away), our almost 10-year old bawled for most of the two-hour drive home.
It was shocking and touching.... and somewhat annoying after two hours of it.... but, oh so cute and sweet and DEFINITELY a melt your heart moment

Lori, I love Zig Ziglar quotes!
Lisa, I know it's so cute! My grandson does it now and I told my daughter to cherish the moment!
Lisa, You had me laughing about how it moved from endearing to annoying. When we dropped our daughter off at school a couple of years ago, on the ride home my son didn't cry, but he did look so sad, until she moved back home....LOL...
