McDonalds will soon start posting calorie figures on their menus. Do you eat there? Will it change what you order?

I like the Egg McMuffin. It has a lot of protein, not too much fat, and about the right number of carbs to hold me over until my lunch hour. It is a good buy for me. I wish they served it 24/7.

Yes it is odd that they have certain items at certain times. Why not make the items available all day? Surely they still have it in the back there to cook ...?

No, it will not change how I eat at McDonald. LOL, when I eat Fast Food - I am being bad = shakes, etc. When I eat at home - I am being good and healthy.

Glad to see they will be doing this. Will help people that stop there every day to maybe think before buying certain items.

Personally, I don't care for McDonalds - prefer Burger King. But will eat at McDonalds if someone is treating me smile

Burger King would have my money every day if I let them... And the $1 menu, mmmmmm....

Dear Angela -

Definitely we all have cravings when we are feeling tired or worn down or whatever! So one key to avoiding the cravings is to address the challenges at their source. I find when I'm tired I crave more comfort food - and when I'm well rested I crave healthy things!

Hi Lisa:

You are so right and wish I knew this years ago. This knowledge is what has helped me to maintain a healthy weight.

My challenge right now - which is triggering overeating/comfort foods - not having my own place while I figure out my life.

I am working on some sort of schedule with my adult daughter and noticing I am not craving comfort food as much. I work around her as she is not going work around me/lol. Love her to death, but she is the "spontaneous" type and it keeps me stressed as I have always loved a schedule when possible.

I have not had a salad for several months now, but will join that discussion when I get my own place again. I love salads and have been reading your posts with jealously wink

Talk soon,

I eat McDonalds hamburgers two or three times a year- and then mainly because they have an animal welfare ethos in place having enlisted the help of Temple Grandin. . I'd be interested to see the calorie content too though. smile

I thought that McDonald's posted this information already, or has in the past, on the paper sheets they put on the serving trays. I could swear I've seen it before when flipping that paper over.

I don't frequent McDonald's very often or any other fast food restaurant. I am on a tight budget and prefer to prepare my own meals because I don't want to spend the money. Plus with all the salt and fat in fast foods I'd rather not make it a habit. Once in a while is ok, and if I am going to have it as a treat then I will order whatever I want, regardless of the calories.

I have seen it on their signs in the drive throughs in my area in Northern VA. It's scary as I buy my active teenager a large angus bacon cheese burger meal for 1400 calories - good thing he is active! If I do buy something for myself it's a plain hamburger.
