The baby finch is clumsily flying onto the cage branches and perches, but still nesting on the floor of the cage (although there are three nests in the cage). There is coloration on the tail feathers and white showing up underneath, and I think I spot the beginnings of orgnge cheek patches, which would indicate that the baby is a male. He has mainly stopped the chorus howling, which is an indication that he is feeding on his own. As soon as his colors come in and he is fully self sufficient, I am going to move him into the cage with the single formerly-abused female and see how that works out. Best wishes, Z. G. Standing Bear
