As a mother, I always worry about my children and am very worried with the number of suicides relating to cyberbullying. I hear some people blindly say keep the kids off the websites, but it isn't that easy with all the technology around. I think I have done pretty good with that.
A year ago I saw a national story about a website called Topix that claims it is a place for news. Curious I took a look and was appalled. I have never seen a more brutal, sick website in my life. It is nothing but people libeling, racism, sexual immorality, and all kinds of sick things and Topix won't do anything about it. I support the first amendment but when you are libeling someone that is illegal. The attacks were occurring on adults too, even a few people I know. I read some comments by the CEO of that company who justifies everything (not trying to badmouth him) and it goes way too far. They do't even make their users sign up for a verified account and the lies are merciless. It scares me to death and thaa is one site that crosses a line.
