Hello Crafters'
I am searching for crafts or hobbies for the visually impaired/blind. My hope is to develop projects visually impaired/blind individuals can construct and sell.
Any suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.

Hmmmm, jewelry making can be iffy because so much of it is visual in terms of color and sparkle. But there is always chain-mail jewelry that can be done by touch with interlocking jump rings.

Other crafts that might be good: knitting or crochet (you can feel whether your construction is straight), or something like candle-making or soap making where you would be working with textures and scent. Hope this helps!

Thanks for your reply. Some good ideas. I think I will need to attend a local crafts class and give some different craft making projects a try. Thanks again. Happy 2012!

Sculpting and pottery are good projects for visually impaired people.

First thing I though was crochet too. As long as people are able to get a feel for it, it would be easy to do the repetitive motion and make something great out of some yarn.
