Hello all,
sorry for not being here the past week. My 12 year old son was involved in a school bus crash with a semi and broke his leg in two places. We've been in the hospital for 4 days for 2 surgeries for the compound fracture. We came home late Thursday night and have been adjusting to a full leg cast, wheelchair and lots of other fun stuff (yes this is sarcasm lol). Needless to say, I am very behind on my work and very tired... My son is my hero though and he's tough as nails and getting stronger every hour so I am joyful.

Miraculously, none of these children were critically injured and all will make full recoveries in time. The bus rear ended a semi truck full force on the interstate and everyone will walk away - I have much to be grateful for. I will resume posts and articles and lots of good stuff as I can here so bear with me smile thanks!

What a horrible shock - thank goodness there was no worse outcome. I have a son the same age and know how it must feel. {hugz} Take longer than you feel you need to get over the shock. (And I told you not to apologise for absence! :grin:) Youngsters are often more resilient than adults. {double hugz}

Hope your son is getting better- being in a cast is no fun!!

This does seem the time for road accidents, someone ran into the back of my van the other night- at five to one on a Sunday morning to be precise. Fortunately no-one was hurt but it means I'm trying to do my safety job out of a Citron CV 1 rather than a Connect van which has slowed things down a bit.

Mind you the car of guy who hit me didn't get off that lightly as you see - but at least he was unharmed . I don't think his insurance company are going to be very happy

Hello everyone,
thank you for the support. It's been a long couple of weeks, but he has made amazing progress! His "good" leg is finally healing from the crash so it's easier for him to get up good on his crutches now and really take some good steps. We're up to about 20-30 steps at a time before he gets really worn out and we finally did a couple of steps (those are scary in a full cast)

This week I plan to get back to work on all of my projects and hopefully get caught up with everything smile Can't wait to get more "normal" back into our days as I think it will help Sean and I both cope more with the accident.

It was very scary, it even made national news. It was so unfortunate and preventable, driver wasn't paying attention - but everyone survived! no critical injuries, and you would never know it to look at the bus where Sean and another girl were sitting during the impact. She had to be airlifted from the scene and Sean was airlifted from the local hospital - scary stuff, but so grateful it wasn't worse so that's what we focus on! Now, life goes on and we can appreciate all of everything more fully - whew.
