My article was about the testing times we go through in life and how we come out of at the other end.

A test can be anything, for me this time it was a beloved pet. For others tests involve heartbreak, homelessness, bankruptcy, loss of faith, anything that involves taking us out of our comfort zones.

At first I cried. I cried so hard I bit my lip. Then I became angry which soon turned to remorse and guilt. Murphy needed me more than ever so I stopped my self pity and got on with the job of helping my son rehabilitate him.

I thanked God that Murphy was out of pain and I asked God to forgive me for not being more careful about whose care I had placed him in. I asked God to give me strength and to help Murphy regain his and I moved on.

Life throws tests our way and it is how we deal with our feelings and how we resolve our problems that counts. Self pity and revenge never solve anything.

Live for the moment and make every moment count.

I get the email updates on Murphy, Linda. It is like he is part of my family now, too. and I pray for him. He seems to be healing well. How is he doing in accepting his condition? I hope he is not depressed or confused.

The last three months have been a major test for me. Reading about Murphy and how you and your family are dealing with it is giving me pause to reflect and know how to work with my losses. Thank you so much for this example of faith and courage you are sharing.

"Live for the moment and make every moment count." is a blessed statement to remember.
