These past couple weeks have been horrific for me and DH. DH had foot surgery on the 19th and will be out of work for at least a month. Then I got a punch in the face. My employer of almost 5 yrs. started getting rid of people and I was notified "BY PHONE" of all things, that I was out of a job the week before xmas!

With that said, it looks like we are not doing anything this new years. We mostly stay home but sometimes go out to eat. I was curious if anyone had any idea's of what we could do with our current situation?

I really do not feel like cooking new year's eve just because I am cooking a nice dinner new year's day. The same old veggie's & dip and cheese & cracker tray to snack on, watching a movie or playing cards is getting old.

It is just me and DH so any new snack/menu idea's along with activities would be appreciated smile

How about a fondue for dinner? We usually do one on Christmas Eve but it would work for New Year's Eve as well. There's no cooking ahead of time and it drags out the meal so you can spend quality time together.

First of all quick healing to your husbands foot! Second sorry for whatever went wrong at your job; you were driving a school bus right? As for New Years..this is a little something we like to do on occasion...We go to Whole Foods and buy some of there ready made food and delicious desserts, often their foods are better than what you'd get at many restaurants, we take them home, eat by candlelight, then watch our favorite shows which ( we're watching older episodes on DVD from seasons before we got into the show.)

Also, there's getting a book on massage out at the library, some fragranced oils, & giving each other massages, books on CD... ordering pizza &baking a dessert together, reading to each other...sex marathon? Either way, I wish you a happy, healthy, and prosperous new year!
