This is really the kind of job many would be dreaming of. However, life is cruel, especially during the economic slowdown. Many people are doing the kind of jobs they do not really like.

Hi pzwt & zjuter1234:

It is possible to earn an income and also enjoy what you are doing = live your dreams.

Do not ever give up on doing this.

As the famous motivational speak "Les Brown" said, you have to be HUNGRY enough.

Me personally, at the age of 53, still hold on to my dream of being able to travel and still have an income coming in.

You will find that the Bella Family cares and we are ALWAYS here if you need to chat, share, need advice and so on.

Thanks for stopping by and sharing...

LOL - Yep! Not in the public school system though (I made a lot more money when I worked in K-12). I teach for a small college. I absolutely love it though.

LOL, I thought as much.

My daughter was fortunate to have "caring" teachers the 18 years she was with someone else other than me - it was hard going back to work after 6 weeks of maternity leave - I cried more than she did(lol). That first day back at work, I would spend my breaks at her daycare, but once I could see the love in the daycare staff - I soon could relax and know she was in good hands. It takes a very special person to be dealing with kids and it is so sad we are losing this as more and more teachers are being forced to take other jobs just to be able to survive. Now we have a lot of folks that need a paycheck and are teaching our little darlings.

At daycare, folks began to teach her things. I counted my blessings every day and hope she will have the same when she has her first child. She is now 25, the only child I have, and looking forward to being a grandmom one day.

You are right about that. And daycare teachers are often the lowest paid of all the teachers.

I guess I should add that I also want to write as part of my dream job. But I want to keep my current job too.

Traveling the world sounds nice too (at least when I was younger). I think being a travel writer sounds like a fun job.
