I just saw a pair of bickering Cardinals!! They're so lovely!! Unfortunately, one of my cats hopped on the windowsill because she saw them too--they are now at the edge of the tree 'squawking' angrily at her! Too funny! She's chattering at them with wide golden eyes and they're chirping as loud as they can and fluffing up their feathers, refusing to leave the tree!!

How lovely! What tree it that?
Our little town has white crepe myrtles planted along the streets and they are in full bloom. It will be snowing petals here soon too.

The first one I (think) is a Philladelphius, and the 2nd one is a Dogwood tree on the bottom that's also in my avatar. They're both not just pretty--they smell divine too!!

Our dogwoods start blooming as early as late February and the blooms are all gone by April. It was nice to see one in bloom. Thanks for the photos.

Had to return to Jesup, GA yesterday to retrieve the last of the wedding items. Traveling up I-95 a hawk crossed in front of us with a long, and still wiggling black snake in its talons.

Flying into the strong coastal breeze with that snake gyrating beneath took some effort. I'm thinking there is a nest with hungry young ones there too.

I saw my little hummingbird friend again today. He came late afternoon. I have one feeder hanging up, a pot of petunias which he loves, and a Gatorade bottle I turned into a feeder. He was a bit suspicious about that, but finally tried the nectar and stayed quite awhile. I painted red flowers on the bottle to attract him.

Such a lovely sight! Hummingbirds are beautiful and vividly colored! Such a special moment!

Today at 6:30 pm, I saw the sun glimmering across Crystal Lake. Most of the day's people had left and the sands were just beginning to cool. A small group of Broadwing Hawks soared above the tree line, pwee pweee-ing to each other. They drifted along the thermals in lazy circles, their black and white chests reflecting the setting sun.
Yes I brought my camera, left in my knapsack on the sand. But my memory took perfect pictures.
