Great article! Not a lot of people thinking about reusing something as common as dryer lint.

I have another use for it. This one I learned about when we set up a hive of honeybees in our backyard. One can't just let the hive alone all the time; there are times you must work the bees. The bees aren't always happy about this and will possibly even try to sting you, but smoke calms them down. If you stuff the smoker with dryer lint, it will burn easily for you the whole time you are working the bees. So one of the main reasons I save dryer lint is to keep my husband from getting stung by our honeybees.

I loved the article - I always think about what I could do with lint when I empty the lint trap. Now I'm going to get a small bin for the laundry area and compost it!

We've had so many birds in our yard lately - building and feasting.
A few days ago, we discovered a hummingbird building a nest on a bicycle hook that is on the ceiling of our patio overhang. We used to hang the baby swing there. I'm going to leave some lint out to help the hummingbird finish the job!

thanks again.
