Serena Williams has pulled out of the French Open after a bizare foot injury and serious health scare. That wasn't such a surprise because we didn't really expect her to play.

Right on the heels of Serena's announcement came the withdrawl from Venus, who just can't seem to shake the hip injury (or other miscellaneous ailment).

So like them or hate them, the Williams Sisters dominance does seem to be fading into the thirtysomething twilight zone. The longer they're away, the less these young, up and coming, young, fearless girls are going to remember (or care) who are Venus and Serena.

What do you think? Are the Williams Sisters at the twilight of their career? Do they have any more Grand Slams in them at agge 29 and 30?

I didn't know Venus pulled out. They will be missed. Thanks for sharing!

I imagine everyone has their moment of glory and then it's time to let someone else shine. This change can let a new batch of talent have some fun!

With the Williams sisters out of tennis for almost a year we've seen a lot of new names. It's actually been good for the sport.

Both Serena and Venus have announced that they are healthy and will be back at the next major in a few weeks on the grass at Wimbledon. So much time has passed that competitors may not be as fearful as before. Should be interesting.
