What is it with bars and unhealthy food? My options are fried battered chicken, fried battered cheese, or fried battered batter. Oh and potato chips. Are healthy options really that hard for them?

Hungry ...

What? No fried Snickers bars? Those guys at that bar are slackers!

Lisa, sorry you are hungry. It wouldn't hurt them to provide some pumpkin muffins or a little veggie tray. How hard would that be?

If you get a chance, whip up a batch of the pumpkin muffins. They aren't just for folks with ADD. They work well for anybody who needs to save a bit of time. You might want to cut the sugar by 1/3 to 1/2.

I like the veggie tray idea. I bring those beer nut things or the almond ones. I always seem to need salt. I never thought about bringing some carrots though. I always serve those and celery with a dill dip and cheese cuts if we drink at home. Pumpkin seeds might work too.

The low cal health food, it's a good concept though. Get a liquor license and start your own with those fabulous Sangria and mixed drink recipes you create. I LOVE the Sangrias you make, btw, just love them smile.

I was at my boyfriend's gig when I posted that. I go to every gig and starve to death because they only have junk food. Luckily after I posted that he had a break and said the restaurant across the street was still open, so I ran over and got some eggplant parm to go. No pasta, just eggplant. It was very healthy and tasty and things worked out.

I felt uncomfortable bringing food into a bar but at that point their "kitchen" (if you call it a kitchen) had closed so really it was no-food-at-all. So if they are going to shut down all food options I feel less wrong about bringing in something to eat.

But yes definitely they should offer GOOD food options if they have a captive audience!!

If *I* had a bar, I would offer that. But clearly I already have a multi-thousand-email-message-backlog to deal with so bringing another project into my life right now is not meant to be smile
