Is anyone familiar with Albrecht Drer's woodcuts?

I have seen them in person at the MFA in Boston and they were very detailed and amazing!

OMGosh! Camille, my favorite old master artist is Albrecht Durer. I did an in-depth study and report on him years ago for my Art History course.

I have never seen his work in person, but marvel at his portraits and woodcuts. They must be truly amazing to see in person. I envy you for that.

Phyllis, thank you for sharing the beautiful Easter postcard.

I have seen Drer's "Melancolia I." It is one of my favorites.

Hi Camille.

I love "Melancolia I". Every time I study it something different, another thought or impression comes to mind. Durer was so deep in his thoughts and how he put them down on wood or canvas.

Are woodcuts of Durer ever used to make prints? I would love to get a print of "Melancolia I".

"The Praying Hands" is beautiful. Was that a woodcut? Also, the detail in his drawings and sketching is so amazing! The rhinoceros sketch shows so much detail.

"Praying Hands" was a preliminary sketch for an altarpiece.

"Melancolia I" and other Drer prints are available at my Allposters.com affiliate which can be found following my Albrecht Drer article.
