I was taught Hawks are Eagle's brothers and sisters and they too are messengers. Most often, the Hawks remind us to pay attention and that happened this weekend at the Tribal Grounds.
About lunch time Saturday 3 hawks flew in and circled above the Dance Arena. They were making such a racket, ladies were coming out of the kitchen. It was obvious they were trying to get our attention.
A few moments later we heard the life flight helicopter. The Cherokee of GA have a baseball field at the Tribal Ground entrance. It provides a safe landing area for helicopters and all weather access for the ambulances. It took a while to get the patient transferred. As soon as the helicopter departed, so did the hawks. Several of us took a moment to offer prayers for the patient and crew. I guess that was the message, "Heads Up, Prayers Needed."

That is very interesting, lcp. I love Hawks and also think of them as messengers. The "heads up, prayers needed" is probably what they were telling you. How wonderful!

Hawk brought me a message today that really helped me with a personal issue. I was sitting on a rock on my little mountain, dwelling on some things when Hawk flew over and circled. As he soared away to the East, I felt as though he had taken my bewilderment and confusion away with him. I felt much better on my walk back home.
