Hi Everyone:

(1) How do you file your taxes and do you do them yourselves?

Me, have been doing by myself for years - too cheap to pay someone else. I did do the rapid refund through HR Block one year about 13 years ago, it was either that or end up on the streets when my then 10 year old only child.

This year, I would like to try the online option - been mailing it in.

(2) What are your thoughts on the options out there for filing?

Thank you for participating in this poll.

Okay, I am now waiting on 2 W2 forms. Got my unemployment 1099 which is usually late (lol) - had to file one time without it. My online W2 (temp job) is suppose to be online in another 3 days. Yippee! I want to see if I get a REFUND or have to pay for the first time, or cannot file like last time due to being on unemployment for 2 years = not enough EARNED income.

Anyone got a refund as yet?

Angela

taxes in the uk are different to anywhere else in the world. we are the hardest hit nation for taxes - we are paying taxes on everything, you name it and there will be a tax for it. we are paying over 5 a gallon for petrol and diesel for to run our cars, our government in the uk take 70 per cent of the cost, vat has gone up , we are just being conned out of our money by uncaring governments, the rich pay the same for a gallon but they can afford it? massive tax on beer and cigarettes, food clothes, and medical products. now the government has made cuts on spending on everything and are ruining the country, cutting benefits for the sick, while still putting up taxes, we cant get rises in income to compensate this. all this government is interested in is a rich society by taking from the poorest in society.

what im expecting next is the government banning us from breathing the air ha ha , then supplying us with oxygen bottles and face masks and charging us to breathe lol, they might as well do, then they will have every tax in the book.

I have my refund roll over to pay my quarterlies so it reduces the quarterly I owe which is paid at the same time. In general I try to make sure I never get money back, because that would mean I gave the government too much money somewhere along the way!
