I have many favorites including:

Toni Morrison - "Sula."

Maya Angelou - "I Wouldn't Trade Nothing for my Journey"

Zora Neale Hurston - "Their Eyes are Watching God"

I could go on and on, but I won't.

To be honest, I could not provide a list like you have but will cheat and say that I also love reading Maya Angelou.
