I'm curious about the legality of making an employee pay to receive their paycheck. One of my clients of whom I am a legal employee, wants to charge me to have my paycheck sent to me. Last year, the paychecks were sent to me without as problems. Suddenly this year, there is a charge for that.

Personally, when I pay people for services rendered I pay for the postage. I consider it part of the price of doing business.

What do you all think?

I spent 12 years with a payroll company and 5 years in government hr and I've never heard of such a thing. Is it a contract position or are you a W-2 employee or a 1099?

I'm a W-2 employee. I've never heard of such a thing either.

I don't do that to the people who do work for me. I write a check, pay by credit card or paypal - whichever they prefer.

Never heard of that but a lot of companies are trying desperate money saving tactics due to the economy. Perhaps thats the reason I don't know.
