An oft-quipped joke summarizes many Jewish holidays this way: they tried to kill us, we won, now let's eat! In that spirit, I thought it would be interesting to start a thread about Jewish food. What are some of your favorite Jewish food, either traditional foods or new favorites? What are some of your best-loved Shabbat or holiday recipes? Shabbat shalom!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE Jewish food. Granted I am Jewish and any time I bite into gefilte fish it reminds me of home and my childhood. The Jewish holidays and Thanksgiving are probably my favorite because the food is relatively the same: Turkey, mashed potatoes and green beans. PLus there is canadelach, charoset, schnitzel and kougel which are absolutely to die for. Mmm I am having a major craving to nosh.
