Descendants of the Booth family are asking that Booth's brother's body be exhumed to have DNA tested against the body that was recovered from the barn where John Wilkes Booth was supposedly killed. Many have speculated that it was not him. Could Booth have gotten away and lived in secrecy?

Many do not want the test to happen for fear of damaging the body from the barn. What is your opinion on all this?

Considering his descendants would like this done, why not? It could confirm or change what we know.

Frankly, this wouldn't be the first time that someone "escaped" the consequences. It would make for an interesting find ... can't you just imagine all the stories that would come to light if it were not Booth?

It is just like the lore of Jesse James, Ned Kelly, and so many other famous outlaws -- legends and lore grows over the years until no one knows for sure what the truth is. Jesse James was seen in so many places after his death, so was Ned Kelly. Some people want to keep the legends alive. I say go ahead with the test so it can be laid to rest.
