Should Jane have sent back the token from the King?

I would have, but I live in a different time. Didn't Anne send back some gifts and that just drew his attention more closely? (or was that fiction, my brain is tired and I can't remember).

It could have been insulting if she did send it back, which could have led to her being banished or worse. Talk about a double-edged sword!

Talk about between a rock and a hard place. Either way she lost or won depending on how you looked at it.
