Suddenly the government is integrating morality into their tax discussions. VP Joe Biden says it's immoral to not raise taxes on the rich in America. So that's immoral but the government thinks abortion is not? Government can't pick and choose what they consider to be moral and immoral and then use that as a reason to push through their own agenda. What do you think? Is this a morality issue?

I am very pro-USA and its wonderful people and likewise another country as well. I am, however, not an expert on morality but it seems to me that some of the upperwork in the government would first have to have some morals before trying to impose their views of morality upon anyone. Do you think that they will ever get it? Maybe they are going to have to become real like the rest of us have had to be.

First, it's not the government's job to impose morality on the American people by any means. The only function of government should be the maintenance of armed forces, but that's a topic for another day.

Second, taxation is NEVER a moral imperative. Curbing government spending should be, but here's what I find reprehensible: my company was kind enough to give me a $1000 Christmas bonus this year, which my family desperately needs, but after all the various and sundry taxes were taken out, I only got $631. Yet apparently, Mr. Biden thinks we're still not paying enough.

To single out the rich is no different than singling out the poor or the middle class. We are one country with many diversities.I really like that term shellacing. I have not heard of that since shop class way back in high school.
