Little Burnt Face and Strong Wind Come read the Mik'Maq story of Little Burnt Face and her hero, Strong Wind. Click on the above link to read the article. I hope you enjoy it. I welcome feedback.

Similarities between cultures always amazes me. There are so many within the myths, legends and parables.
Thanks for sharing the Native American version of "Cinderella."

Thanks, lcp. I love the Cinderella stories. Almost every culture has a similar legend. I just read a story in the Manataka Smoke Signal News that really touched my heart. It is titled "This Blanket Is For You". I love Native American stories and the lessons they teach us.

Loved the story, Phyllis.
Interesting that the community colludes with the abusers in this version, but the community isn't involved in the Cinderella story. She seems to be invisible.
It's great to see goodness rewarded and cruelty get its comeuppance!

It's great to see goodness rewarded and cruelty get its comeuppance! Hi Mona. Thanks for stopping by. Yes, it is interesting about the attitudes of the community in this story. Good versus evil is usually the underlying message in Native American myths.
