This weeks article covers Germany's tradition of a very first day at school Schultuete. Do you think this might make life on that milestone day easier for nervous first graders, and would the giving of a School Cone be something for the rest of us to copy?

I find this tradition nice, i live here. I have a few years before my daughter comes into school.
I dont know that it helps the first graders over come the nervousness though, they are so excited with the day itself they probably would live fine without it. But i find it nice, i didnt have this as a child since i grew up in the states.

Well you have some fun ahead of you when your little girl starts school, think it is as much fun to watch and plan as to receive. Both my sons loved their Schultueten, even though we were not in Germany but living in Belgium at the time, many years later and they still have them.

Also think having the contents to enjoy does help sometimes, when the initial excitement with all the new experiences wears off a little.
