I live in Massachusetts in whats called the Merrimack Valley
Some one asked me if i knew anything about the tribe of Merrimack Indians which It was named after
I don't and was never told, been here 63yrs

Merrimack Valley is a region that would've had a number of tribes or nations. One of which was the Merrimacks.

If you get yourself a map of the region, many many many many many MANY of the area's locations, (primarily bodies of water and land formations) are named after or by tribes that lived here.

ie:

Kancamagus (the kank), Winnipesauke, Winnisquam, Patuckaway, Massabesic, Wachuset, Massachusetts, Connecticut (many states names for that matter), Saugus, Swamscot, Nahant & Nahant Bay....etc etc etc
