When was the last time that you actually learned something new at work?

Many people I work with pretend that they know it all. As a manager, I'm not ashamed to admit that I don't. I try to teach myself (or have someone else teach me) something new a minimum of once a week. Most of the time it's never anything really elaborate. For example, last week I taught myself how to change the footers by chapter on a large document. It took me the better part of an afternoon, but I finally got it!

What skill have you taken the time to learn this week?

This week I learned how eating only natural and unprocessed foods has helped me feel clean on the inside. I started a variation of the raw food diet about 3 weeks ago and this week I really feel better. I woke up with energy every day this week, when I ate the natural whole foods I felt full, and it is almost like I have had all of my internal organs and veins cleaned out. Sort of like a vacation for your body to recover from all the processed foods and meats we eat so much of. This is by far the best lesson I learned this week and it all started because of a conversation with one of my co-workers at work. It had nothing to do with how I do my job though, sorry. Sometimes the personal relationships with people at work teach you the most.

Hi, Thanks to advances in technology, jobs that used to require a daily commute often no longer do. Transcription, whether medical, legal, or general, is one such career. If you have an up-to-date computer and high-speed Internet, can type at least 65 words-per-minute, and have an excellent grasp of spelling and grammar, you can become a work-from-home transcriptionist. The main advantage when getting started in general transcription is there is no standard educational curriculum. Thanks, Kelly.

My typing speed is very poor. So, this week I'm trying to upgrade it.
