Have you ever faced writer's block?

I've been suffering from this for a long time. If you had faced it how did you overcome?

I write in a journal. Helps clear the head.

Or, I send a "catch up" email to a friend. Gets the words flowing.

Around me all the time I 'see' things to write about, for example:

* a radio programme may mention some juicy topic
* a picture on a bill board may trigger a thought
* a film may lead to the contemplation of a new idea
* the interaction of people may instigate thoughts on a new topic

I write down all these thoughts as they happen in my Little Pocket Notebook. Once back at my computer, the various ideas become the skeleton of new articles. (JOY)

I have 3 blogs on different topics and a health and wellness website so I'm constantly in need of new topics.

What I do is read other blogs to see what people are interested in and writing about or google some different terms to see what's out there. Then I check for keyword ideas on the google adwords tool. It comes up with tons of keyword ideas that lead to articles for me.

Ezine Articles is also a good source of ideas for blog postings and articles.

I keep a listing too of ideas and topics I read about or hear about. I read newspapers and magazines all the time and get lots of ideas from those.

Thanks a lot Joy and HealthyMom62. But my experience is different. I have topics to write about, I know the topics very well but I don't feel like writing. Any solution?

Hi Farjana, you said you "don't feel like writing". This could be due to so many reasons including tiredness, needing something to eat, too many other things on your mind, fear, not being able to justify the time needed, other worries, etc. Do any of these apply? (JOY)

Hi Farjana, tiredness is actually believed to be the 'No.1' block not just for writers but for everyone. ('No.2' = lack of proper nutrition - food/drink)

The human body does need 7-8 hours of good sleep but unfortunately many people keep pushing themselves to operate on less. You then get into a vicious circle of not being able to sleep because you're worrying about deteriorating work patterns. (JOY)
