"each day we wake slightly altered and the person we were yesterday is dead" writes John Updike

I read this quote recently in a book called The Creative Habit by dancer/choreographer Twyla Tharp and I instantly thought about how so many people who want to exercise but don't simply live in the past. They refuse to decide to wake up a new person each day.

The truth is that each day presents an opportunity to live in a fit healthy body so just forget about who you were yesterday (lazy, unmotivated, stressed, tired, couch potato) and get busy with being the fit person you want to be today.

You might not be able to accomplish this every day but do it often enough and eventually your fit self will start to take over.
