While the minority party normally gains seats in an off year election I would not count your election results so soon.

Currently, I would expect the Republicans to gain seats, but I do not expect they will regain the majority. Also, remember "All Politics is Local" as former Speaker of the House, Tip O'Neil would say. So, any national trend my not result in changes locally. People vote locally for the Congressman or Senator they know, not based on their opinion of Congress as a whole.

No body is "counting" election results. It's all speculation, and those who do that kind of thing will definitely not stop speculating.
