On Saturday it is exactly 40 years to the day that the picture of the Beatles walking across the zebra crossing at Abbey Rd was taken. Fans will be there to mark the anniversary. If I decide to go, I'll let you know what was happening.

Well I didn't make it over to St John's Wood as it's quite a long way but apparently there were so many people there celebrating the anniversary that they blocked the road for more than an hour. A Beatles tribute band made the crossing and I'm sure hundred of similar photos were taken. It was good to mark the event I think.

I would love to live up there one day. All the little school children seem so pleased as they run around in their uniforms. Seems like a really nice (and really expensive neighborhood)

Yes, it's a very nice and as you say expensive area. I used to live in a rented flat in St John's Wood High Street. Abbey Road Studios are nearby with the famous zebra crossing outside. I went for a tour inside them once. Paul McCartney has a house close by the studios - I saw him once when Linda was alive. They were walking arm in arm down the high street. We had the same window cleaner. He told me Paul was a very nice man, he would get up early and take his children to school. The children went to the normal school, not a private one.

I used to live pretty close to there. It's a nice area, but not the nicest in London. I wouldn't say it's outrageously priced. I wasn't quite sure which was the crossing, though. They all look alike, lol.

The crossing is literally right outside the EMI studio on Abbey Road.

I only recently learned to call it a "zebra crossing."
