When Vance and I went to SALEM, MA for our weekend get-a-way Labor Day weekend, we went to the Peabody Museum and found an incredible form of art which recycles trash into forms of art!!!

Fish was created with old detergent bottles and other plastic trash.

We were blown away at what they were able to create!! I just loved it and wanted to share this "green" form of art!

Moth was created with piano keys, buckets and old bike parts!! This was one of my favorites~!

Those are really cool designs made from trash! I bet the museum was alot of fun! I like the butterfly, too, although the colors of the fish are very vivid and intriguing.

You got to see them up close and personal to really get the full effect and appreciation. There was such an array of creative works of art.

Someone took a bunch of cigarette butts found in the sand of a beach and made a giant clam!

Dragoncharmer, do you know if the exhibit is ongoing in Salem?
I do remember seeing it advertised but never did get to see it.

Cigarette butts found on the beach to make a giant clam? I bet it would be interesting but, yuck, the idea of picking up all those old butts. frown It is amazing to think of all the art that could be made from left over stuff or forgotten trash.

I like the idea of using things from nature to make art. I once used wood chips to make a project called "past and present", and paired them with metal clips. It was to show the juxtaposition of natural things of yesteryear and the technological coolness of man made things. I used a light strip (of today) to separate the two and the shadows of the images were pretty cool. (I never really had to use trash as much as use things in our everyday life to make creations).

It was fun. wink

My understanding it is going to be there for a while but if you are interested I would make the time to see it. You never know when they will pull for another Exhibit.
