Great article, Moss. My mom worked for a doctor once that said if people ate better, with more fiber and more regular bowel movements, his job of colon cancer surgery would be unnessary.

We took that to heart in my family growing up. My mom always gave us lots of fruits and veggies and high fiber breads and cereals. I try to do that with my kids too.

I hadn't heard of using witch hazel for cleansing. I use Holy Tea, which is an herbal tea. It also helps keep my husband and I regular and our colons cleansed.

I try to follow most of the advice you gave in your article, especially the eating fiber and drinking water. These things have really helped me.

I have been constipated since November. Its been 6 months. No idea why, but I have tried EVERYTHING. Worst thing is, I've always been the health freak in the family, and here I am. I drink 3 ltrs of water a day. I excercise regularly. I walk for an hour twice a week. Jog for 20 minutes once a week, and lft weights twice a week. You should see my tummy, like I am 6 mths pregnant. I wonder what the means. Thanks for the articile, but honestly unnless I take laxatives... I simply don't go. Most of them don't work for me either... so interesting situation. My doctor looks at me with very obsure looks almost of disbelief, as tho its all in my head or something.

Have you tried adding fiber to your diet? Eat some All Bran type cereals at breakfast, load up on fruit - esp raisins, or try prunes.

Seems like you're doing all the right things otherwise. Maybe you should try your doctor again as something doesn't seem to be right with this.

You might also try a good detox tea. I use Holy Tea which is a totally natural, gentle detox tea that really sets you free! It isnt' healthy to keep wastes and toxins trapped in your body like that.

You need to increse your consumption of veggies and fruits evryday. It is clear that you do not eat enough of a wide variety of plant foods. 50-80% of your diet in the form of unprocessed plant foods will correct your problem.
