Hello, everyone.
Im Gail and it's a pleasure to be part of your doll making forum. Im a homemaker with a BA in Arts and Concentration in Studio Arts. I have a most boisterous yet sweet little daughter named Zaynab.
I wanted to sew better while at the same time develop a hobby. I choose dolls b/c I loved making little dresses for my plastic "5 Strawberry Shortcake that my dad found at work. I would gather straps of cloth from old clothes. When I got older, I decided dolls were "immature" or "useless" to grown women, so I threw toys out or gave them away.
After I read Michelle Hamilton's Sewing Victorian Doll Clothes: Authentic Costumes from Museum Collections, that old joy came back and I remembered how it felt make those crude to others but cute to me, outfits. Also I didnt feel bad about it b/c I saw that women still made dolls and doll clothes.
So I hope I can make some new friends and learn some cool techniques from you guys.
Thank You.
