It seems like this might interesting to find out. Do you knit for yourself? Of the projects I have on my needles, What's on your needles? 3 of them are for myself, one pair of socks, one sweater and the clapotis.

It is a shawl/scarf kind of thing, Clapotis Knitty has great free patterns and it is a great way for a designer to become "known" if you will. I've had great luck with their stuff.

WOW, That's quite a bit above my "newbie" level, but beautiful.

Thanks for the link! I tend not to knit for myself. I have 2 daughters who are having babies soon though and baby stuff is a great way to get into knitting. I just started knitting a few months ago but baby blankets and hats are pretty easy to do.

I'm also making Christmas presents right now. Maybe after the holidays I'll be able to do a scarf for myself.

Actually it is knit one row, then purl back adding stitches at the end of the knit row and decreasing a stitch at the end of the purl row to get the slant. Then every 12 rows or so, dropping every sixth stitch, it is harder to explain than to do! It is fun to drop stitches on purpose.

I need to share the link for the Clapotis with my Mother-in-law. Don't know if she's ever done one. Maybe she'll make one for me! More than likely, she'll say "Oh you can do that." YEAH Right.

Tell her, you could, but it would be so much more special coming from her smile

My New Years' resolution this year was to knit for me. I've knitted 2 sweaters,1 tunic,1 mobius shawl,1 1/2 pr of socks!
But I had to make it a resolution to get it done! I was tired of talking about what I did and not being able to show by wearing!

Here is a picture it is a bit longer now. I am hoping it will be about 70 inches when complete for wearing flexibility.
