I'm currently listening to Bach's Christmas Oratorio in a wonderful performance from 1965 with Christa Ludwig and Gundula Janowicz, conducted by Richter.

I've just been listening to Howard Goodall's Requiem (on 'Eternal Voices'), tuneful and using a wide range of English poetry in addition to the stanadrd Latin text.
