This interesting piece discusses Yahoo's big love for Twitter and possible attempts to either buy or BECOME Twitter -

Yahoo and Twitter

Do you use Yahoo and appreciate the new social media aspects being added on? Would you like to see Yahoo buy Twitter or replace Twitter as a micro-blogging platform?

Do you think the trend for the major social players - like Facebook, Yahoo and Google - should emulate Twitter?

I'm not crazy about Twitter. I like to follow some agencies like tourism or books but just commenting about some inane things is hard to keep up with.

HI Angie. You are right, it's hard to keep up with Twitter. The way people learn to love twitter is that they learn to surf over the tweets. Eventually you develop a feel for how you like to use the service, or else you leave it. :-)

I hate how almost all or all the websites turns into a Facebook or Twitter! I normally go on Change Canada after checking my emails which is after my morning routine, in April I stopped and I started going there again this morning and apparently there was not enough Facebook there because now in our profiles there's a new thing and when you click on it again darn Facebook! It is like a cult or and a virus that spreads everywhere!

Yahoo and Twitter have partnered to bring tweets directly into Yahoo homepage's emphasis on personalization, as well as a more modern design. will be “Follow” buttons to the right of the stories, allowing users to click to add the front page's selection of news articles now starts out as a generic .

This is an old post but I think people have become addicted to what they think is information.
