OK, let's get a game started and see what we know about the animals found in Alaska! Starting with the letter "A", each poster must name an Alaskan animal (wild or domestic is fine as long as it can be found in Alaska!) that starts with the next letter in the alphabet!
*Note added 8/10/09: Read through to "E" for a new game rule! We are going to have a WINNER when we're done!
I'll start it out with "A" for "Arctic Fox". Anyone have a "B"?

OK ... come on. Its not much fun to play by myself <grin>. I'll give a nudge though. For the letter "B". how about "Bald Eagle"!?
Gorgeous birds - so majestic soaring high above the treetops. We were in Haines, AK, a few years ago and watched a Bald Eagle dip down and pluck a fairly large fish right out of the water of the bay! It had to flap HARD to gain altitude carrying such a heavy, wiggling load and actually dripped fishy ocean water on us as he flew over our heads! What an experience!

Good one, Frosty <grin>.
Now, how about "D" ... and I don't want to hear "duck" from you ;-)

Yep, we do have deer in Alaska <g>. Good call!
Can anyone list the two sub-species of the only type of deer that is native to Alaska - and where they can be found - while we wait for someone to come up with an Alaskan animal that starts with the letter "E"?

Oh, I hadn't thought of that one! Yes, the Peregrine "F"alcon's territory does extend up into Alaska. Gorgeous birds, aren't they?
OK, now "G"!
(Frosty - no two answers in a row, OK? <smile>)

You mean I CAN'T say Goshawk?
Darn! It really Greebes me to have these rules suddenly imposed on me like this. Oh well, I'll take a Gander again later and see if someone else takes a turn.
