LOL!!! Mine is kind of a spring green color. Did you scrub the algae off or just let it do its thing and then it got over it? I NEVER see my UD cats. Unless I contort myself into a pretzel so I can look into and under this one plant I always see one in. I'll probably forget about them until the ammonia spikes and I'll be like "No one died, why is it that high....." My two danio fry are doing great!!!! they are just now beginning to explore deeper waters, and they are getting so big! I think that's all for now, Oh!
The other day I went to petsmart to take something back and was looking at the ADFs. I happened to notice one poking out from under the rock they have in there. I noticed another frog had its feet on her shoulder, but she was just sitting there. I kept watching her, and I realized the feet on her shoulder weren't attached to another frog. They were growing out of her shoulder!!! There are two feet, attached at the heels (like a mermaid) and the heels are attached to her shoulder. So it looks like she has little toes propped on her shoulder. Unfortunately she had dropsy. She was really pale, not very active and the night before, I noticed she was starting to swell. I didn't think she would be alive much longer, and when I woke up the next morning, she wasn't. So, RIP little Footsie. (yeah, I know, really creative...)
The message above speaks of her in present tense because I copied and pasted it from another of my boards cause I'm feeling lazy and didn't want to type it all out again.

Doing the gravel change.......WELL worth the effort !!

Actually, I didn't think it was that big a pain to do..since I really enjoying getting into my tanks...lol...

I generally keep my tanks cleaner than I keep my house !! That's pretty sad !

I just added a kuhlii loach and 4 ghost shrimp to that 29 I posted pics of. Also, put some microsword in the foreground. I don't know if I have enough light for that plant or not...just have to wait and see.

I scrub the algae off the glass and leave the algae on the rocks and ect. We have a snail in the 29 gal that is working on the algae but I am going to be looking for a mini pleco or some oto cats this coming weekend when we go to Oklahoma City. I came home last night after being gone this weekend and my 29 gal has a huge buildup of algae on the rocks. I asked my hubby if he left the lights on overnight to which he shrugs and says no...I think he must've left the lights on. At least he fed the fish, birds, cat and dogs and there were no catastophies. Just a major mess to clean up! He doesn't change bird paper.

Major algae is a sign of something being out of balance in your system. I am learning as I go along.

I ended up with another algae issue in my 29...thankfully not the hair algae this time, just green water...which is bad enough.

I am learning about phosphates and nitrates and all that jargon which you really need to know if you are going to get seriously into planted tanks. I have a ways to go before I understand it all, but basically what I'm doing at present is just letting the tank be and see if it will adjust. It's hard to leave it alone...lol...but I'm waiting for the nitrates to build up a bit so the plants have something to eat and can outcompete the algae. Right now my nitrates are at zero and phosphates are .5ppm.

Like I said, I don't quite understand it much...yet...hopefully I will before too long and get this dang tank to a place where I can just enjoy looking at it !!!

I cleaned all the algae off and it hasn't grown back yet. I am thinking that he left the lights on 3 nights in a row!

As you can see I am a newbie here - I am having terrible trouble with my goldfish, Soda. Soda obviously is having swim bladder issues and I am doing everything that I have read to do but he doesn't seem like he is any better. I am comitted to continuing to treat him - but I am wondering how long I should keep it up. I don't want him to suffer needlessly.
Sorry if this isn't the appropriate forum for this - but I would appreciate any help anyone could give me.
Thanks.

I usually post on the Betta only forum, but I have a 2.5 gal filtered tank that has 3 little rasboras and an ivory mystery snail. this morning when I fed, I noticed that one of my little rassies has a bulging eye. He acts like he can't see correctly, which I'm sure he can't. What can I do for him, and what may have caused this? will it go to my other little rassies?? poor little guy, I did 100% tank change on saturday, but they have all been swimming together and eating fine..HELP!!

I am so sorry for dear Rasbora. Thank goodness your other two babies are fine. How are you doing?
Poor water quality and stress can cause a disease called "Popeye". Don't know if that is the one for this case.
