As a woman that use to be a size 7 or 8 most of her adult life and after having 2 children. I can truly say, I have learned to embrace the fact that I am a PLUS SIZE WOMAN! I am ok with it, I take care of myself, and most of all I love myself. I had to learn, it is just a stupid "Tag" in your clothes. Who Cares? I mean really! It makes no difference if you are tiny, average or large; if your clothes don't fit properly, you don't look your best. Other then for basic covering, isn't that why we wear clothes?

While I love fashion and style I am not consumed by it and I don't make the assumption that just because women don't buy clothes that they are afraid to buy clothes. Maybe they have not taken an interest in their clothes because no one has taken the time to show them how or maybe they become annoyed because they don't know exactly what stores best fit their style, budget and body. Women tend to buy clothes for the body they want or the shoes for the feet they would like. Instead for buying the size that they actually fit comfortably into. This has more to do with the way a person views their body then anything else. Anyone can put you into fashion but one still has to have their own style.

In one word. Guilt! I think many women feel guilty about spending money on clothes when that money could go to more important things, like food, or the kids, or the husband's golf game (because he works hard). I think women don't give themselves enough credit for their hard work and should reward themselves. But don't go overboard! Mattie

(yeah - I cut off the gold game, LOL!)

It is just too hard to justify spending money on new clothes for myself, when my daughter HAS to have a certain unifrom for school, my oldest son is growing out of his tennis shoes every week, and my youngest son can barely fit into the pair of jeans that last week I had to roll up on him.

Sorry - it is just priorities, and the kids have to come first.

I think the reason we don't buy clothes which fit is that we have to pay extra to have that done and most of the time it is hard to find someone who will do it. Men get it done free when they buy something, such as a suit, women have to find someone to do it, then pay extra to have it done. Most seamstress no longer are willing to do it and since most women have never learned to do the fitting, they are stuck with clothes which don't fit, so why even spend money on something you know isn't going to fit in the first place -- especially if you're like me heavy, crippled and on a low-income. Notice how Susan Boyle has been put down for going on the talent show in Britain -- sure, she can sing great, but did you notice how everyone was looking weird at her for saying she wanted to be a professional singer? I have acid reflux and can't wear anything that is really form fitting. But, I have never been a fashion page in the first place! I am a housewife and I probably look like a total slob to other people! I do a lot of stuff that is hard on nice clothes and so when I buy something nice it almost never gets worn.

My big deal is that everything you see is so tight! Also I could never wear those hip huggers and I want clothes that are covering, but yet not gramma looking. Even the womens clothing takes their cues from current fashion. So that is why I tend to lean towards tshirts and sweats type look. Plus I want to feel comfortable!!

Women are afraid when purchase new clothes because all women are very choosy when she spend something its clothes or any other things.
