Now doesn't this look yummy? Once summer arrives, we can visit our own farmers' markets. I always enjoy stopping at a fruit or vegetable stand and buying from the back yard gardener. I have a great appreciation for all the hard work that goes into raising produce. Ah, to have a green thumb.

Here's the market in Ventimiglia. If you click on the picture you will see an album of Italian food pictures, including markets.

That is one thing about a vegetable market - everything looks good to eat.

I know people think I'm strange when I travel. When we were in Carpi and visited the Parmesan cheese "factory" I took tons of photos. The owners thought we were so funny. Here is the article on how Parmesan Cheese is made.

I am so jealous, my sister-in-law went to Tuscany, and toured all over. She brought back some of the most beautiful pictures! Mouth watering market pictures. My passion is the beauty there, one day when we can my husband and I will go. We promised each other that we will go and be romanced, while we can still walk!!!

So until then, I go to my fav. Italian market and I pretend when I am choosing the produce and the maets that I am somewhere lost in Tuscany!

Have you ever heard of the Caputo family stores? generations of Caputo's has been involved and they are the best of the best!

It's cool that you can order online. I'm going to Chicago in July. Perhaps a side trip is in order.

We went to the italian Market in Philly. I bought some sausage: Sicilian, Tomato and Basil, and Chorizo. There was also some onion and peppers sausage. I'll fry up the onion and peppers to go with mine. How interesting.

I like that there are now so many wonderful types sausage available. I bought some great chicken sausages from Whole Foods last weekend. The aritchoke & spinach was very tasty.

Everyone raved about the sausages today. I had a tomato and basil. It was really good.
