Hmmmm. This is a copy of the sign that comes up when I go to leave feedback for a seller.

.....Important changes to Feedback
Buyers, you can no longer receive negative or neutral Feedback from sellers.

You should leave honest and accurate Feedback without the fear of receiving negative or neutral ratings.....

See, this just worries me. Jill and I have both encountered buyers who were mentally unstable. They were upset about things in their home lives and just ranted unreasonably in eBay. So now you're stuck with that, and have no way of warning other people to watch out for them.

I suggest contacting the seller and explaining your problem. I have been a buyer and a seller on Ebay, and I found that good communication usually solves the problem. If you cannot resolve the issue directly with the seller, then I suggest that you leave negative feedback, and open a dispute with Paypal (if that is how you paid).

In an ideal world, I think feedback (as a seller) should be left as soon as payment has cleared. The buyer has done their part. But, hey, eBay is not an ideal world, unfortunately, so I do things just as Lisa described. Again, most unfortunately, sellers can no longer leave negative or even neutral feedback for a buyer, so the best we can do is not give them any feedback. That's a pretty sad state of affairs and, in my opinion, indicates that eBay is having difficulties of their own.

It's funny, the eBay owned site Kijiji is very popular in my area and I have sold a lot of items on it. No fees, cash payments, the buyers come to you ... I like that. Naturally, not all things can be sold locally for optimum profit.

I agree - when I have sold items on Ebay - when the buyer has made their payment, I have gone in and left great feedback. So far that practice has not turned negative on me.

BUT - I also ship when I say I will, and stay in communicaiton with the buyer until I know they got the item.
