This could be any food that you enjoy around the holidays.

One of my favorites is a Pumpkin Yule Log with cream cheese filling. Yum!

I also love Crunchy Bacon Bites. I make them every year for our family party and I get in BIG trouble if I don't.

Does anyone else have a favorite holiday food?

Mine has to be cranberries. I use them in salads and make cranberry relish too. I even make a drink of warmed cranberry juice with cinnamon, cloves and nutmeg.

Cranberries in any form are really great for the immune system. Since cranberries are in season in the fall and winter, I always associte them with the holidays.

Oyster Stew was always the traditional Christmas Eve meal when I was young. Not just for my family but for our entire neighborhood. Along with marriage and my own family, we have lived in many different states and areas. Oyster stew was not as common and not always readily available, and we somehow made it a New Year's Eve tradition. Now in our 'later' years we are once again living in a predominantly Scandinavian area (not the same one); and we have made it a Christmas Eve tradition once again. Oyster Stew is one of those foods that gets better the longer it sits, so I can't wait for the leftovers.

I love Oyster Stew, but I am the only one in my family that likes it, so therefore I very seldom make it. I remember my Mom making it for her and my Dad when I was a kid. Even though I didn't have a taste for it then, it brings back fond memories of those days. It is a very easy stew to make and yes, it's delicious after it sits and the flavors blend.

I know lots of people don't like them, but I love fruitcakes. We order ours from The Collin Street Bakery, a place that has the best fruit cakes in the world. We get one every year and give them as gifts too.

My favorites are my mom's homemade fruitcake and cinnamom rolls. Both are my Grandma's recipe. Grandma also sends homemade fudge every year, too. And then there is my other Grandma's pecan roll. MMMMM, I am hungry now.

Oh my goodness, oyster stew sounds great! Do you have a recipe to share? I'd love to make that a new tradition for my kids. We love oysters!

As for fav holiday foods...hot freshly baked gingerbread with whipped cream! Mmmm. My sister's banana bread. Peking duck. Peppermint candy canes. Chocolate cherry cordials. Peppermint ice cream. Egg nog.

Yum.

Aebleskivers - puffy eggy pancake-like balls filled with applesauce and sprinkled with powdered sugar. We make these every Christmas morning; not one gift is opened in our house until we've eaten them.

Believe it or not.....it's roast turkey. I love the whole experience of it. The aroma when it's in the oven, the gravy, and, last but not least the wonderful turkey stock that simmers on the stove for hours!

Anyone else really hungry?

I love turkey too! Even though we can eat it all year, there's something special about a big roast turkey during the holidays, with all the left overs.

As holiday fare goes, turkey is really healthy too.

Candy - well - maybe that is really #1....

My momma's cornbread dressing. I could eat barrels of it. She makes enough for a small army so we all have tons of leftovers to bring home.

Pinwheel cookies at Christmas time.

Pumpkin yule log sounds great! I also love cookies during the holidays and spicy beef tamales. We're buying some today from a coworkers aunt. This lady makes the best I've had in ages plus it feels good to know we're contributing to somebody's holiday fund.
