I thought this was a brilliant comparison of the socialist agenda supporting religious movements of the past to socialist agenda suporting political movements of today.

Wow, that actually sends chills down my spine. Considering all of the facts that he points out and, adding to that, the radical cabinet that is currently in the making, we should all be very afraid.

Your right Kay. I think one of the most shocking things that stood out to me was this:

I had known that Jonestown was financed and endorced by liberal politicians while in San Fransisco. They enjoyed the protection of these politicians because they donated large sums of money to their campaigns and provided supporters in large numbers to their ralleys every time. I had done a paper on it a long time ago and it is just amazing how badly people misinterprited what it was about.

They seem to have the notion that it was a "Christian Cult," and that fit the template of Christians as being "religious zealots." The politicians tried to cover for him by saying he was just a preacher with Marxist views. He was not dangerous and he wasn't a threat to anyone. He's a preacher in the community, how could he be dangerous? (This analysist by Glenn rightly points out that Barack has the same sentiments about Ayers. He's not dangerous. He doesn't blow up buildings anymore. He's a Professor in the community. Proudly proclaiming Marxist views to his students, in his books, and in any interviews he gives. He's just a professor.)

(I never thought about the parrallels from Jonestown to today until I heard this monologue)

However, what just got me when I read about it a while ago, was that Jim Jones was not a Christian. He punished his followers for believing in God. He told them that Heaven was empty and that we need to create a new Heaven on Earth.

His followers followed him as if he knew best. They gave him all of their money and he gave them an allowance in return. They lost their ability to survive on their own, or think for themselves. He took care of their clothes, their health, their food, whatever they needed. It was Socialism in its purist form.

That is spooky.

What government in the world today is heading in this direction? What government wants our money so that it can provide us our health care, our education, our food, our clothes, our way of life? What government in the world today has banned the word "God" from anything having to do with the state. What government has taken out "silent prayers" from school and argued that it is wrong for a small girl to read her Bible to herself in a public school. What government has "demonized" any followers of an organized religion and commonly mocks them and refers to them as "Religious Zealots?"

Personally, I am not a Christian. I was raised Catholic, and I consider myself spiritual, but I do not really follow any type of organized religion. But I believe with all my heart that we are running into a problem when we replace God with Government. Our founding fathers repeatedly said that God and Government were inseperable. They constantly asked upon Him/Her for guidance. Now we have lawsuits to take, "In God We Trust" off of our money because people are, "offended."

When Conservatives say that the left is turning into "Kool-Aid" drinkers, what we are refferring to is that their leaders are immitating Jim Jones to the "T" and that it won't be long before they have lost their individuality, their freedoms, their values and morals, their everything that made this country great from the start.

I went to the link you provided John and that about says it as far as the pictures/feelings I'm getting. I'll tell you I don't usually go aroud posting in political forums and life is going on for me, lol, but the flashes and scenes I'm getting are at a standstill, meaning, I had really, REALLY hoped that after the election they'd go away.

As far as "Koolaid" drinkers go. I didn't know it was an actual cult of followers that felt this man was a messia and blindly followed. I had thought it was a term for people who looked through rose colored glasses. How shocking and sad.

In the sense of what I'm getting, though, the greatest threat really is the brain washing that is going on. This is why I found this particular piece so gripping. I feel it in my stomach, almost butterflies or something that feels like dropping from a rollercoaster hill when I look to the obama people. They're truly thinking, "What's so wrong with helping our fellow man?" The answer is "Nothing" but that's not the agenda this particular gov't has!

What's going on here, especially for the people who expect to get "social pay raises" reflects something more like what happens when a predator (whom we protect our children from)rides around the school playgrounds looking for bored/tired children who will get into their car by waiving a cute little puppy or candy in their line of vision. That's it almost exactly. There are just more promises after these folks get in the car that won't happen. They will be guilted into supporting failed attempts too- kind of like when the media portrays a fellon as the victim.

Obama touts the touchy feelies and there is just too much hype around his being the first black president to see anything else.

We, my husband and I, went to a starbucks shortly after the election and there was a lot of talk about Obama. It was stunning. There were mostly 18 - 20 yr. olds talking and it went like this,

"OMG what, like do you think of our new president??? I'm just like so, I mean, like I just want my kids to, you know, like be able to play in the streets and be safe. He's gonna, like, you know, just do the changes....I really think it's just like incredible." A lot of knods, nothing new after those few sentences, asking if they want to go to the mall.

I snagged this Youtube video from Rush's site. It speaks directly to the conversation you overheard at the Starbucks. Make sure that you are sitting down, Elleise smile

I'll make a new post to this video as well.
