Guess this doesn't really qualify as an answer to your question, but I've been thinking about it all day, so thought I would share. It's a composite of photos called "Wildflowers in the Sky."

I love that Afghani girl photo that was on the cover of National Geographic about 15 years aqgo. The startling eyes will always be with me.

My favorite photographs are by Edward S. Curtis. There is one that really touches my soul, titled Out Of The Dark. It is a photo of Indian men on horse back emerging from the dark of the forest. When I look at it, it is as if I am standing right in front of them and can hear the sounds of the horses walking and breathing and the rustling of the items the men are holding. I feel as if I can just reach out and touch the horses as they go by me. It is a very spiritual image for me. If I can find the image, I will post it here for you.
