Do you have rules and guidelines regarding your kids' TV watching? What sorts of shows do you prefer or restrict? Do you watch TV when your kids are around? Do you even have a TV? Do you have cable?

There's a lot of issues to consider surrounding TV and kids. Here's some of my thoughts in the article below. Contribute your feedback, thoughts, questions and advice here!

I do let my 3 year old watch tv. We have satellite and I let her watch nickelodeon. I know some think it is bad for kids to watch tv, but my daughter is learning a lot of good things from it. Just last week she learned to rhyme. Now everytime I turn around she is finding words that rhyme with each other.

I do have limits on what she watches, like I won't let her watch anything with bad language etc. Even some cartoons are starting to use words I don't approve of for a child.

We watch very selective cartoons. I use the DVR to pre-record so I can avoid commercials. And my kids get about 30 minutes of TV before lunch while I'm getting everything ready. It works for us. :-)

I don't allow my kids to watch TV on weekdays and on the weekends and holidays they are allowed about 2 hours a day. They are only allowed to watch PG programs and Disney Channel.

I haven't wacth TV since my pregnancy until now, my little girl is 7 monthes old. I do not feel interested in TV no longer. We turn on the TV very seldom to watch the important news, the baby do not concentrate on it.
